Description

Rabbit Corneal Epithelial Cell Media is a specialized, nutrient-optimized formulation designed to support the in vitro expansion, proliferation, and phenotypic maintenance of primary rabbit corneal epithelial cells (RbCEpC). By providing a balanced biochemical environment, this medium promotes high cell viability and helps preserve characteristic barrier properties during culture.
The medium is tailored to support epithelial populations that line the outer ocular surface, forming the multilayered corneal epithelium of the cornea. As the eye’s primary external protective interface, the corneal epithelium helps maintain optical transparency, barrier function, tear film stability, and epithelial wound healing.
Maintaining delicate primary epithelial phenotypes in vitro without spontaneous dedifferentiation or loss of barrier function can be challenging. Rabbit Corneal Epithelial Cell Media supplies the nutritional and biochemical support needed to help preserve native characteristics over extended culture passages.
This culture system may be useful for studies of corneal wound healing, ocular drug permeability, trans-corneal transport, and topical ophthalmic safety testing.
Specialized media, with ingredients and supplements optimized for the unique requirements of Corneal Epithelial Cells providing optimal culture conditions, cell health, data integrity and reproducibility. As with the majority of our epithelial cell media, this product contains no serum.

CAI media are tested for sterility in order to confirm no bacteria, yeast or fungi contaminate the solutions. The products undergo further quality control for correct pH, osmolality and lack of endotoxins. A panel of different bioassays affirm the media sustain a proper environment for expected cell-type-specific culture, growth, plating, karyotype, physiology, morphology, viability, population doublings, surface markers, cryopreservation, differentiation and/or induction.
Laboratory research use only (RUO). Not for human, clinical, diagnostic or veterinary use.
