These cells originate from preadipocytes, which undergo adipocyte differentiation to become mature, lipid-storing cells. The product is intended for maintaining differentiated human adipocytes rather than inducing the differentiation of undifferentiated human preadipocytes; adipocyte differentiation typically requires a separate induction medium and protocol.
Adipocytes are the predominant functional cells of adipose tissue, which is distributed throughout the human body in subcutaneous, visceral, and other depot-specific fat stores.
