Human Preadipocyte Media are specialized cell culture media formulated to grow and maintain primary human preadipocytes — the progenitor cell population capable of committing to adipocyte differentiation under defined conditions. In vivo, these progenitors reside within adipose tissue depots, where they support tissue remodeling and turnover. Upon induction, preadipocytes differentiate into mature adipocytes specialized for lipid accumulation, energy storage, and endocrine signaling. Dysregulation of preadipocyte expansion and differentiation is strongly linked to obesity, type 2 diabetes, and broader metabolism disorders.

Functionally, preadipocytes and their mature descendants regulate nutrient processing, lipid droplet biogenesis, and systemic metabolic homeostasis. During adipogenic differentiation, cells progressively increase lipid droplets and activate lineage-specific expression programs (for example, adipogenic transcriptional regulators).
