Description

Human Synoviocyte Media is a specialized cell culture system designed for the sterile in vitro culture of human synoviocytes, supporting synoviocyte medium conditions that promote cell health, proliferation, and reproducible phenotype maintenance for downstream biological assays. Synoviocytes are resident cells within the joint cavity of synovial tissue; they contribute to synovial tissue organization and to the biology of the synovium by producing and responding to extracellular signals in the synovial fluid microenvironment. In culture, this media is intended for human fibroblast like synoviocyte (HFLS) populations, including synoviocyte models commonly used in joint disease research (often prepared as HFLS-derived formats for cell culture studies), as well as related synoviocyte cell type models.

The product is typically supplied as synoviocyte growth medium assembled from a synoviocyte basal medium (e.g., HFLS basal medium) plus a synoviocyte growth supplement and media supplements to create a complete medium suitable for routine culture. To support consistent cell growth and reproducible culture performance, Human Synoviocyte Media is provided in practical formats with defined packaging and an expiry date appropriate for routine cell culture use. Depending on the catalog variant, the complete medium may include or omit components such as serum (e.g., fetal bovine serum) and may be supplied with an antibiotic such as penicillinstreptomycin solution. Many formats also incorporate recombinant proteins and other defined components within the culture media or individual supplements to reduce variability and improve uniformity across experiments.

In research, synoviocyte cultures maintained in Human Synoviocyte Media are used as models of synovial biology in studies of inflammation, tissue remodeling, and disease-associated changes in synoviocyte function. This supports investigations that compare different synoviocyte states and different cell types in joint-related experiments, including studies focused on chronic synovial pathology and tissue-level behavior. Because reliable cell physiology and viability are essential for quantitative readouts, the media supports downstream activity measurements, molecular biology assays, and protein analyses that require consistent culture properties across passages. Human Synoviocyte Media can also be used in broader experimental designs that include other supporting populations (including stem cells such as human mesenchymal stem cells) to study cell–cell signaling and microenvironment effects relevant to joint disease models.

Human Synoviocyte Media can be used to culture synoviocyte cell line models, including human fibroblast like synoviocyte–derived cultures, and it emphasizes sterile handling to avoid microbial contaminants such as bacteria, fungi, and mycoplasma. For some workflows, the media’s defined formulation supports experiments that require uniform cell starting conditions for techniques such as perturbation studies and assays that may depend on transfection efficiency or other readout sensitivity. Overall, Human Synoviocyte Media is intended to provide a reliable cell culture system for synoviocyte-based research, with standardized supply characteristics (including product use in laboratory research settings) so that researchers can focus on the underlying biology rather than variability introduced by the culture environment.

Specialized media, with ingredients and supplements optimized for the unique requirements of synovial cells, providing optimal culture conditions, cell health, data integrity and reproducibility.

Details

CAI media are tested for sterility in order to confirm no bacteria, yeast or fungi contaminate the solutions.  The products undergo further quality control for correct pH, osmolality and lack of endotoxins. A panel of different bioassays affirm the media sustain a proper environment for expected cell-type-specific culture, growth, plating, karyotype, physiology, morphology, viability, population doublings, surface markers, cryopreservation, differentiation and/or induction.
Laboratory research use only (RUO). Not for human, clinical, diagnostic or veterinary use.
